About the event
Supper Club Film Night Letters from D-Day – If I Don’t Come Home
A film to coincide with the 80th Anniversary of the D-Day landings You might be asking yourself why this film about D-Day?…It is based on the book 'Ten Days To D-Day. The Countdown to the Liberation of Europe' written by David Stafford. One of the people it features is 'Glen Dickin' who was a rifleman from Canada. He was in the Regina Rifle regiment that left one of the camps in Hiltingbury for Southampton Docks and landed in the 1st wave on D-Day on Juno Beach.
Reviews:
“Letters from D-Day was, as you might expect, a three-sofa job. That’s like a three-hanky job, but you sob directly into the sofa to save time.” - THE GUARDIAN "An intimate view of one of the 20th century's key moments...sobering, moving and beautifully read." - THE TELEGRAPH "
"Intensely emotional slice of social history....utterly arresting" - MAIL ON SUNDAY
Doors open at 7.15pm with the film starting at 7.30 pm
£5 per person to cover the cost of the supper
