Stuart Allen and Johanna will tell the story of the Polish resettlement camp in Hiltingbury after the Second World War, followed by John Webster who will introduce a film about Eastleigh Airport and the Spitfire.

On March 5th 1936 the prototype Spitfire had its first test flight from Eastleigh areodrome. With extracts from the 1942 movie the “ The First of the Few” the remarkable story of the Spitfire is told.
On Hiltingbury Recreation Ground, post war, the Polish resettlement camp was created, enabling displaced Poles to rebuild their lives- This short video tells the story of the way the Camp was commemorated last year.
This interactive supper club evening, will have participation from two local historians and a local resident who had her early years on the Camp. “
