About the event
‘Goodbye Lenin’ is a German tragicomedy, made in 2003.  The story is about a family living in East Germany.  The mother, Christiane, ia a staunch socialist but falls into a coma in October 1989, just before the November Revolution which leads ultimately to the unification of East and West Germany.  When she awakens eight months later, the Berlin Wall has fallen and communism in East Germany has collapsed. Her son, Alex, does all he can to protect her from a potentially fatal relapse by pretending that life is the same as it was before her coma.  This leads to some very inventive and, at times, humorous events….
The film will be introduced with a brief synopsis of what to expect, a supper will be offered during the film and drinks will be availbe with volantary donations.
